Mightor Industries New Member Referral Contest

In an effort to bring in new members, we are going to have a contest to see who can get the most new members to our forum.

Start – January 26, 2009
End – March 31, 2009

Prize – Top Two Referring Members will each receive a 2 GB USB Flash Drive.
Secondary Prize – For any member in the top two who refers more than 50 new members, they will receive a spindle of 50 DVD R's.  You get the choice of + or -, based on your burner.

Rules
– Administrators and Moderators cannot participate (this leaves Greg and I out of the content.  Sorry Greg).
– Participating Members must have been members for at least 30 days (this only excludes our most recent member as of this writing).
– Participating Members must make at least 5 posts within the contest time period.  These posts must meet standard forum posting rules and must be semi-substantial (At least a paragraph containing at least 5 sentences).
– New members referred to the site by a participating member must make at least 3 posts during the contest time period.  One of these posts may include an introductory post.  Standard forum posting rules apply and must be semi-substantial (At least a 5 sentence paragraph).

How to refer a new member to the site.
– Log into the forum
– Click on the Profile Button at the top of the screen to display your user profile.
– In the second section are three items related to Referrals.  The third item is a Referrals Link.  Copy that link and paste it wherever you like.  Also here you will be able to see who has clicked on your link (Referral Link Hits).  This link will place a cookie on the users system for 60 days (standard browser rules apply to cookies, if you trash your cookies upon exiting your web browser, the cookie will disappear). 

Registration
– Once the user has clicked on the link and decided to register, there will be a field in the registration process that indicates who referred the new user.  If they do not have the cookie on their system, the new user will be able to select the member who referred them.
